Our mission is to transform the lives of underprivileged Kenyan students by providing scholarships for secondary education, so that they may improve their lives, the lives of their families and become contributing members of their communities.
2019 has been a great year for ABF, thanks to our generous supporters and well wishers.
We were able to offer 3 more high school scholarships, bringing the total number of ABF scholars to 19. These students are:
1. Ferdinant Inonda - Lenana High School
2. Tracy Hope Hamala - Starehe Girls High School
3. Nancy Okello - Lwanya Girls Secondary School

ABF RETREAT in Busia, Kenya, August 17, 2019
ABF held a retreat in Busia, Kenya with the ABF scholars, their parents/guardians and some of their teachers. This was a highly successful and energizing event. It opened with an address by the President and Founder, Mrs. Maggie Githuku, followed by a session led by Ms Marion Nyongesa, HELB (Higher Education Loan Board) official to help students and guardians with loan application requirements and procedures for college education. Then Dr. David Githuku, ABF Director, shared the opportunities available to find on online work to help the students and their families to become more self reliant. After lunch, the students were treated to a fun, motivational leadership and personal advocacy session led by Ms. Dainah Kibera of Kenya Airways. The students left the retreat highly motivated and energized and excited about their future.
A big "Thank You!" to the session presenters and also to Footprints Press for donating notebooks for the Retreat.
See photos of the event on the past events page.
